This paper deals with machinery problems with which the author was involved. The first three sections deal with problems experienced during operation and commissioning of pumps, damage to rotating machinery due to pipe forces and building vibrations caused by a screen. The fourth section describes a vibrator developed to shake a prill head and the final section reports in some detail a major modification carried out on a nitric acid plant
