When I was invited to present a paper about new developments in the ammonia industry, I asked myself whether I could present a paper high-lighting developments which had not been discussed before, and the answer was no. Then I asked myself the question, could I present a paper to an audience who had not had the opportunity to work nearly forty years in the ammonia industry which would be of interest to them, and the answer was perhaps. I will, therefore, try to do just that. I will not present any new developments which have not been discussed before, but I will try to put the known developments in perspective.
