In response to a number of regulatory initiatives on pollution prevention and control, and specifically to the recent draft IPPC Directive of the European Commission, the European Fertiliser Manufacturers Association (EFMA) has established a Task Force to describe the Best Available Techniques (BAT) for the European fertiliser processes and to propose emission limits for existing and new production plants.

This paper describes the work of the Task Force.
